A preview of Pop-Up Magazine's spring tour
We have two new issues for you this month. The one in your hands, and the spring issue of our live magazine show, Pop-Up Magazine, which is touring the country right now. We’re coming to Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Washington, D.C., and Chicago.
If you haven’t made it to one of our shows yet: A brilliant cast of writers, photographers, radio producers, and filmmakers performs fascinating, funny, surprising, moving new stories about — well, everything.
We pair the stories with beautiful photography and illustration — like we do here in the pages of California Sunday — and animation and film. And our house band, Magik*Magik Orchestra, performs an original live score. Nothing is filmed or recorded to go online afterward — so you have to see it or it’s gone, you missed it.
When the show is over, we stick around for drinks so you can meet the cast. It’s a fun night out. Our new spring show has family standoffs, car chases, first jobs, clever coders, militias, poetic protests, heroic struggles, and more. And one thing we made for this show is unlike anything we’ve done before. (That’s all I’m going to tell you.) Tickets are on sale now at www.popupmagazine.com.
Thanks for reading — and watching. Hope we’ll see you out at a show.
