Diehards and Deserters of Shorewood High School’s Class of 1988

April and Jack Bobin started dating his senior year of high school and got married when they were in college. At every one of their reunions, Jack’s football jersey is displayed next to April’s cheerleading uniform. For their 30-year reunion, they got there early. April decorated tables while Jack set up his sound equipment. He was the DJ. The Bobins, like many of the 500 graduates of their class, never left their hometown of Shoreline, Washington, and have kids who attend the same schools they did. One alum laughed that he’s even back in the same house he lived in as a teenager. As with every reunion, though, there are those who stayed but also those who fled and never looked back — that is, except for a few hours one September night.
