The Teens Issue
Hanging Out
At 14, it’s getting dropped off at a friend’s house on a Saturday evening and cramming in as many hours of Xbox as possible before being picked up. At 16, it’s going to a strip mall with classmates and ordering boba teas. At 17, it’s driving to the local pier and riding the Ferris wheel and forgetting about college applications for a little while. When teens hang out, they get the chance to goof off, to pursue obsessions, to take inventory of all the thoughts in their heads that parents don’t want to hear, or to do nothing at all.
